This study, conducted in partnership with the International Growth Centre (IGC) with the support of DEEP Challenge Fund Bangladesh, uses Small Area Estimation (SAE) and Machine Learning approaches to predict internal migration patterns at the upazila and district levels in Bangladesh. By combining satellite, survey, and census data, the project generates high-frequency migration estimates to support evidence-based planning.
The predicted migration data will be integrated into the IGC-BIGD Datahub Dashboard, allowing policymakers to track migration trends and make data-driven local development decisions.
