Tarikul Alam Sharif (Rajon) is the Deputy Academic Coordinator at BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University.
His previous role in BIGD was as Senior Academic Coordination Officer for the Master of Development Studies (MDS), a major academic program of BIGD. He is the Officer of Administration of the SEIP program and provides administrative and academic support to the Executive Development Centre (EDC). His work responsibilities include student recruitment, and communicating with faculties, students and other stakeholders, among others.
Tarikul had two years of extensive research experience in the Bangladesh Development Initiative (BDI), where he trained enumerators, conducted Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with various stakeholders, held interview with respondents, supervised a team, and arranged participatory rapid appraisals in various rural areas of Bangladesh. He was involved in a number of studies including Food Security for Ultra Poor and Local Governance Safety Net Program. He subsequently made a career shift from research to the academic administrative area, coordinating programs such as the Master of Development Studies (MDS) and the Masters in Development Management and Practice (MDMP) at BIGD.
Tarikul completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Philosophy from Jahangirnagar University. He completed his MBA in Finance from Northern University Bangladesh.
