Tabassum Nishat is a Research Associate at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University.
Prior to this, she was a Trainee Research Associate under the Young Researcher’s Fellowship (YRF) program. Driven by her passion for writing and communications, over the last few years, she pursued work in SEO-focused article writing, marketing, and business communications. From her passion for writing & communications, in the last few years, she pursued work in SEO-focused article writing, marketing & business communications. She has also facilitated online workshops during post-COVID times to help young girls learn the basics of Article Writing & SEO- with the goal of helping them become self-dependent. Her research interests mainly include works within Social & Gender Justice, Economic Development sectors and Climate Change. Currently, she’s excitedly learning and working in the MeLA Initiative team at BIGD.
She finished both her Bachelor of Social Science and Master of Social Science degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
BIGD established the MELA (Monitoring and Evaluation for Learning and Adaptation) initiative to support the development organizations and donors to find the right balance of management coordination where learning the roles of M&E are promoted without compromising the accountability requirement for development effectiveness.
