Swapan Deb Roy is a Technical Expert in the Data and Field Management department at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), BRAC University.
After completing his BSS and MA in Philosophy from the University of Chittagong, he joined the Research and Evaluation Division (RED), BRAC in Data Management Unit where he worked for 27 years. He has experience in managing large datasets and providing technical support for data management of different disciplines of development research namely education, health, environment, and economic growth. He has been involved in managing data for several BRAC program research. He has expertise in using advanced software such as Stata, SPSS, ArcGIS, ODK, and SurveyCTO. He has also received training from ARCED Foundation on using Stata and Microsoft Excel to leverage the near-real-time data collection technology to improve data quality by running High Frequency Checks (HFC).
