Semab Rahman is a Senior Research Associate at BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University. 

Semab joined BIGD as a Research Associate in 2019 under the Research, Policy, and Governance cluster.

During her tenure as the General Secretary of Economics Study Centre, University of Dhaka, she worked for developing the potential of fellow students by organizing mass events, trainings, workshops, and seminars. She represented Bangladesh in the 13th South Asian Economics Students’ Meet, Nepal. She achieved the Best Paper Award in the following edition of the international conference.

Semab completed her Master’s and Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Dhaka.

Research, Policy, and Governance (RPG)

RPG is a flagship program of BIGD, which aims to re-establish the relationship of trust and partnership between researchers and policymakers to build institutional capacity and produce rigorous research, consequently uplifting the quality of evidence-based decision and policy-making in Bangladesh. Currently, RPG is conducting studies on digital literacy and access to public service delivery, social accountability in social safety nets, and citizen’s experience with land services.
