Riana Islam is a Research Associate at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University.
She has completed the ‘Young Researcher’s Fellowship’ (YRF) programme as Trainee Research Associate in BIGD. Before joining here, she was attached to Subarta Trust as a researcher, where her job was to ensure access to elderly housing and invent the caregiving industry in Bangladesh. Her research interests loom around various development issues focusing on social protection, public policy, human development, Gender and Local Governance.
She has completed her graduation & post-graduation from the Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka. Her master’s specialization was in Social Development.
