Proloy Barua, PhD

Proloy Barua, PhD, is a Research Fellow at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University. 

Dr Barua started his research journey at BRAC’s Research and Evaluation Division (RED) in 2003. His most recent role was as an Assistant Scientist at BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, Brac University. Throughout his career, he has held various positions in BRAC offices globally in severak countries that include Afghanistan, Liberia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. 

Dr Barua completed his PhD in Health Systems Management from the Naresuan University in Thailand. Additionally, he completed a second master’s degree in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University, USA. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University.
