Muhammed Alamgir is the Acting Chairman of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). Prior to his current role, Professor Alamgir served two consecutive terms as Vice Chancellor of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET). With over 32 years of experience in teaching, research, and project coordination, he has successfully completed numerous projects, including those funded by the European Commission. Professor Alamgir published 242 technical papers and contributed to various publications. His research areas focus on solid waste and fecal sludge management, geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, and climate change issues. Professor Alamgir holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and earned his Ph.D. from Saga University, Japan.
