Merina Islam Mou is a Data Associate at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University. 

Merina Islam Mou started her career journey in 2020 at Helen Keller International, where she laid the groundwork for her expertise through a research internship. Since then, she has steadily built her experience through diverse roles, culminating in her last job as a Research Assistant at ARCED Foundation. With over 4 years of experience in large-scale development research, Merina has collaborated with top academicians from US universities and organizations like Helen Keller International, BRAC IED, icddrb, World Bank, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and World Vision Bangladesh. Her expertise lies in developing Research and Data collection protocols, facilitating survey training, ensuring data management and quality, creating data collection tools using SurveyCTO, analyzing data using STATA and Python, and creating insightful data visualization reports with Power Bi. She has expertise in identifying development measures for early childhood age groups using psychological assessments such as Bayley IV, Global Scales for Early Development (GSED), and IDELA. Her research interests remain firmly rooted in early childhood development, child development, developmental psychology, public health, and social impact, fueled by an unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children and communities.

She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Child Development and Social Relationship from the Govt. College of Applied Human Science (University of Dhaka, Home Economics Unit).
