Md. Karimul Islam is a Research Associate at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University.
Prior to this, he was a Trainee Research Associate under the quantitative stream of the Young Researchers Fellowship (YRF) program. Before working at BIGD, he was a Research Assistant at the Delta Research Initiative, Khulna, Bangladesh where he carried out the responsibilities of fieldwork, documentation, data transcription, and data analysis. He also worked at the Change Initiative as a Research Assistant. Additionally, has also with SNV Netherlands Development Organization on several projects in the position of rapporteur in the southwestern coastal cities of Bangladesh. He has published a few of his research works in reputed Scopus-indexed journals.
Karimul completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Economics from Khulna University, Bangladesh, obtaining the highest distinction in his bachelor’s degree.
