Marjan Hossain is a Senior Research Associate in BIGD. She joined BIGD as a Research Associate from 2 May 2020, under the Research, Policy and Governance Program. Prior to joining BIGD, Marjan worked as a Research Officer at Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) (2017-2019), after which she worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre of Urban Studies for Sustainable Development, East West University (2019-2020). At BIDS, she has aided and assisted in several projects under the Renewable Energy Technology (RET) systems that primarily involved impact evaluation studies.

Marjan has completed her Bachelors in Economics from American International University (AIUB) and her Masters in Economics from East West University, Bangladesh.

Marjan’s interested areas of research includes development economics, energy economics, environmental valuation, and impact evaluations. Even though she is very keen on studying applied statistics and econometrics in a more rigorous manner, she intends to equally broaden her qualitative research techniques and adopt a mixed- method research into her work.
