Kazi Iqbal, PhD, is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University.
He is currently working as a Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS). A development economist, he previously worked for the World Bank in Washington, D.C. for three years. He also worked at the UNDP, the University of Western Australia, and the Institute of Microfinance. He has taught at the University of Washington, and Macalester College in Minnesota. Additionally, he serves in the editorial board of Bangladesh Development Studies, Journal of Bangladesh Studies, and Lahore Journal of Economics. He has published numerous journal articles in reputed journals both nationally and globally. He is a member of a number of technical committees of different ministries under the Government of Bangladesh.
Dr Iqbal received his PhD in Economics from the University of Washington in 2006.
