James W. Khakshi

James Ward Khakshi if a Program Coordinator for M&E for learning at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), BRAC University. 

James’ last appointment was as Head of Operations (Research) at BRAC International based in Uganda, where he managed cross-country research teams for evaluation research and other operation research of BRAC countries in Africa. Before that, he was based in Freetown as a Research Coordinator for BRAC in Sierra Leone and Liberia. He also worked as a Senior Program Specialist at BRAC in Bangladesh from 2012-2013 as a research, innovation, and resource mobilization focal. His early career at Indigenous People’s Development Service (IPDS), Bangladesh focused on research and advocacy for human rights. He is keenly interested in the role of M&E in the design of large-scale interventions in the LDC context, alongside the empowerment and livelihood for youth from a multi-sectoral perspective. 

James completed his MDS in Political Economy of LDCs from Sciences Po Bordeaux, France. He also holds a Master’s in political science from the University of Dhaka.
