Hasibul Hasan is a Research Associate at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University.
He previously completed the Young Researchers’ Fellowship 2023 at BIGD in the quantitative stream. During his undergraduate years, he worked as a research assistant and interned at BRAC International and the a2i Programme. Hasib’s research interests span development economics and applied microeconomics, especially in the areas of poverty, agency and social mobility. He has presented at a number of conferences, including the 2023 IGC Conference on Resilient and Resurgent Bangladesh. He has been conferred the Sen-Haq Award for the Best Research Paper in the 2023 South Asian Economics Students’ Meet, held in Nepal, for his work on shocks, resilience, and the dynamics of vulnerability in rural Bangladesh.
Hasibul obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
