Camelia Dewan, PhD, is a Visiting Research Fellow at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), BRAC University, under a Research Council Formas-funded project on food safety in Bangladesh.
Dr. Dewan is a cultural anthropologist and Associate Professor at Uppsala University, working to better understand regulatory policies and politics of enforcement considering food safety in Bangladesh. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked at the International Water Management Institute and the Stockholm International Water Institute.
Dr. Dewan completed her PhD in Social Anthropology and Environment at the University of London (SOAS & Birkbeck) and holds an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MA (Honours) from the University of Edinburgh.
