Abdoulaye Seck

Country Director for Bangladesh and Bhutan, World Bank

Mr. Abdoulaye Seck is the World Bank’s Country Director for Bangladesh and Bhutan. Prior to his new assignment, Abdoulaye Seck was the World Bank’s Country Director for Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Republic of Congo. He has held several other positions in the Bank, including as Operations Manager in Afghanistan, country manager in Myanmar and in Moldova, and senior economist and team leader for economic reforms, growth strategies and development policy lending. He also provided strategic advice on credit risk management at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Tokyo. Prior to joining the World Bank, Abdoulaye worked in the Ministry of Finance in Senegal, overseeing national accounts, macroeconomic forecasts, and economic planning. Abdoulaye holds a master’s degree in development economics from the Graduate School of Economics, Statistics, and Finance in Paris, France.
