Special Report on BRAC, World Education Reports, 1976

Published by World Education Reports, the ‘Special Report on BRAC’ traces the organizational journey BRAC took from 1972 to 1976, brought forth through lived experiences of its staff. Five years into BRAC’s work toward rebuilding a war-torn nation, starting from Sulla, it had grown into a thriving rural development agency serving numerous villages throughout Bangladesh. The report sheds light on how BRAC, initially standing for Bangladesh Rehabilitation Assistance Committee made a philosophical shift to becoming Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee with sections on social activist and feminist, Khushi Kabir’s seminal work in Anandapur, BRAC’s focus on women and intriguing reflections of a training coordinator on field.
