Bangladesh’s textile and ready-made garments (RMG) industry is crucial for economic growth and employment, but a shortage of locally skilled workers is a significant challenge. The government initiated the Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) to address this issue, establishing an Executive Development Centre (EDC) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Knitwear Industry Management (PGD-KIM) to provide training and development opportunities. This program is accessible to recent graduates and mid- to high-level personnel from factories who aspire to advance their careers within the knitwear industry. The overarching aim of PGD-KIM is to nurture proficient local managers and reduce reliance on foreign counterparts.
