As each year Bangladesh makes a substantial investment in annual development programs, both the government and citizens are interested to ensure appropriate procurement and maximum utilization of this investment with reduced loss. Under the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED), Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) administered a project. One of the components of this program aims at engaging citizens at the local level development work; BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) is working as a consultant to implement this component at the field level. Through this project, CPTU aims to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public procurement by allowing multi-stakeholder engagement with the formulation of implementable strategies and active field-level involvement by the participation of civil society and youth groups.
