Bangladesh’s Evolving Balancing Strategy: From Two-Way To Three-Way?

This journal article explores Bangladesh’s evolving foreign policy as it navigates the complex geopolitics involving India, China, and the USA. Traditionally balancing its relations with India and China, Bangladesh now faces a tri-polar balancing act due to the heightened strategic stakes in the Indo-Pacific region, influenced by the Indo-Pacific Strategy, QUAD, and AUKUS. By proposing a new Three-Way Balancing framework, this study aims to understand how Bangladesh can maintain its neutral stance amid intensifying geopolitical rivalries.
