Bangladesh a Year After the Uprising: Key Insights from BIGD Pulse Survey 2024–2025

This report synthesizes key findings from all three rounds of BIGD’s Pulse Survey: Citizens’ Perceptions, Expectations, and Experiences (August 2024, October 2024, and July 2025). One year after the July 2024 Uprising, public sentiment in Bangladesh reflects a complex mix of declining optimism and rising demands for reform. The Pulse Survey 2024–2025 findings show that early political and economic optimism has significantly waned, largely due to growing concerns over political instability, law and order, and public safety.

While anxiety about economic issues such as price hikes has eased somewhat, perceptions of governance have continued to deteriorate. Citizens demonstrate strong awareness of the need for reforms—particularly in policing, the justice system, and electoral processes—alongside a clear desire for timely national elections. Overall, the surveys highlight the interconnected political, economic, and security challenges shaping public expectations in post–July Uprising Bangladesh.
