Anti-discrimination Students Movement in Satkhira

The Anti-Discrimination Students Movement (ADSM) of 2024 emerged in response to the reinstatement of a controversial quota system, mobilizing students nationwide, including Satkhira, to demand justice and meritocracy. Through decentralized protests, social media coordination, and mass mobilization, activists overcame state repression, infiltration, and violence. Post-movement, students engaged in volunteer initiatives, relief work, and community governance, though internal conflicts and political co-optation challenged cohesion. Facing debates over remaining a pressure group or forming a political party, ADSM navigates complex ambitions while maintaining its commitment to equity, civic empowerment, and systemic reform, leaving a lasting legacy of grassroots activism and social consciousness.
