On 14 August 2020, the first episode in the series ‘Roadmap to Research’ by Economics Study Center, University of Dhaka was conducted virtually with young researchers from renowned institutes, where they discussed job opportunities in the research sector and guided current undergraduate students on how to pursue a career in this field. Semab Rahman, Research Associate, BIGD one of the speakers for the webinar discussed quantitative research analysis and the importance of adequate data collection. She shared her real life experience in attending competitions, exploring new topics for research and writing research proposals. She had a great mentor and received support from her academic professors and peers as well. She recommended the young researchers to read and know better about the ongoing trends and seek help whenever needed. It is very important to know your passion and where your interests lie in order to excel in research. For this she encourages the young researchers to explore the diverse topics of research by balancing time with academics and extracurricular activities as well.
