An international gathering hosted by Swansea University’s Department of Education and Childhood Studies on September 16-17 addressed the educational needs of children affected by conflict and crisis. Experts from 20 organizations explored research trends, policy priorities, and funding opportunities, with discussions led by INEE and FCDO representatives. Supported by the FCDO and British Academy, the event spotlighted innovative approaches like play spaces and arts-based methods, with Swansea’s Dr. Justine Howard leading efforts to enrich education for affected children in Bangladesh, Algeria, and the UK. Collaborative projects are already underway.
