We are happy to announce that the second cohort of Trainee Research Associates (TRAs) at BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) have successfully graduated from the quantitative stream of the Young Researchers’ Fellowship (YRF) Program!
Young Researchers’ Fellowship (YRF) is a 6-month program that provides opportunities for experiential learning on research methodology and other crucial research skills to budding social scientists through training on applied research methods, hands-on experience of different components of social science research, and mentoring from senior researchers. The program was officially launched in 2021 with the aim of developing the next generation of Bangladeshi social scientists. Participants have the Trainee Research Associate (TRA) designation during the fellowship period.
This year, we received 275+ applications and after multiple rounds of screening, 13 TRAs were selected for the intensive program. The chosen TRAs receive training on applied research methods, hands-on experience in different components of social science research, and mentoring from senior researchers at BIGD. Suitable participants are also offered the choice to join as research associates at the end of the program.
