The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and BRAC University officially launched a joint PhD program in the Political Economy of Development. The program will provide advanced doctoral training in development studies, development economics, and the politics of development. Students will be given the opportunity to study both in the UK and in Bangladesh.
This pioneering initiative blends the academic excellence of the SOAS Doctoral School with the opportunity to apply development theories in real-life settings offered by BRAC University and BIGD. BIGD’s Research Director, Professor Munshi Sulaiman, is serving as one of the three distinguished scholars leading the program, alongside Professor Naomi Hossain and Professor Mushtaq Khan.
