Position Summary 

The Programme Associate (PA) will work closely with senior researchers to manage research projects and grants, engage with research implementing partners, coordinate related research activities, track project budget, monitor grant requirements to ensure compliance, and communicate with external partners and stakeholders. This is an exciting position that requires engagement with multiple parties within and outside of BIGD, a strong understanding of research processes, and an interest in policy and development work.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Program and Grant Management 
  1. Support the research team in the planning and implementation of on-going projects.
  2. Oversee project timeline, budget, and expenditures, and assist with financial reporting.
  3. Coordinate meetings, workshops, and conferences. 
  4. Collaborate with team members on proposal development and grant applications. 
  5. Identify potential funding opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and private donors to support the projects’ objectives.
  6. Foster collaborations with implementation partners and other stakeholders. 
  7. Ensure compliance with the university and funding agency policies and regulations.
  • Research Communication 
  1. Coordinate with the BIGD Communications team to support basic outreach materials, including brochures, flyers, cards, and simple visual assets.
  2. Collaborate with the BIGD Communications team, ensuring clear and impactful dissemination of program activities and research findings.
  3. Assist in preparing draft content and layouts using existing templates and brand guidelines.
  4. Support routine updates and dissemination of communication materials as required.
  5. Lead the proper documentation of ongoing projects’ activities and processes.
  6. Provide writing and editorial support on concept notes, donor reporting, internal documents, etc. as and when needed. 
  7. Support the research teams in synthesizing and effectively communicating policy lessons from the research projects. 

 

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications

To qualify for the position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Bachelor’s degree from any reputable university in Bangladesh (Master’s degree preferred, particularly in social sciences or business studies).
    • Excellent proficiency in English writing and communication (both academic and non-academic).
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) for basic design and layout tasks is an advantage.


Experience:
 Two years’ experience in relevant sectors in any academic/government/semi-government/ autonomous organization preferred


Reporting and Base:
The position will report to the Senior Programme Coordinator, BIGD, and will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh
