BIGD is seeking an enthusiastic and organized early-career professional to join our team as a Program Associate in the Executive Director’s (ED) office. This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in both project management and research at the heart of our organization’s strategic development.

About BIGD
BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University, is a Bangladesh-based social science research and academic institute, dedicated to generating and sharing knowledge through education, research, and public and policy engagement in equitable partnerships with national and global actors.

We conduct rigorous, multi-method social science research, grounded in developing country operations, on a range of social and economic issues to promote practical, time-sensitive innovations for tackling governance and development challenges. Our research spans innovations taking place in government, non-profit, and private sectors for improving lives.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the ED’s office. You will manage multiple work streams, including:

  1. Managing the ED’s calendar, schedule meetings, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Tracking and following up on the timely implementation of strategic action points and projects initiated by the executive office.
  3. Organize and prepare necessary documents for the ED’s participation in meetings, events, presentations, and proposals.
  4. Assist in managing the ED’s official email and social media accounts.
  5. Work laterally and provide support to the internal teams that work directly with the executive office including Communications & Knowledge Management, Strategic Engagement & Partnership, and Government Engagement.
  6. Support the organization of events hosted by the Executive Office.
  7. Assist with planning and organizing internal meetings, workshops such as strategic retreats, weekly senior management meetings, weekly standup meetings etc
  8. Join the ED on field visits, participate in learning inquiries, and document experiences.
  9. Help develop a branding strategy for the ED that aligns with the organization’s communication guidelines.
  10. Participate in research projects and studies undertaken by the executive office.
  11. Provide writing and editorial support to the ED as needed.
  12. Contribute to brainstorming sessions to identify strategic and organizational priorities.

Job Nature

This is a full-time, contractual position. Candidates must have authorization to work in Bangladesh and the ability to work in-person out of BIGD’s Dhaka office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, Management, or a related discipline
  • Master’s degree in Social Science will get preference
  • Relevant experience will get preference

Reporting and Base

The position will report to the Executive Director, BIGD and will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
