Position summary
The BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Multimedia Content Creator to join its dynamic Communications and Knowledge Management team.
This role requires a strong visual eye, attention to detail, and technical proficiency in producing high-quality audiovisual content that communicates BIGD’s work and impact. Primarily focused on video production — from shooting and editing to motion graphics — the role also involves photography and graphic design. The Multimedia Content Creator will be responsible for capturing events and field activities, producing engaging multimedia content, and maintaining visual consistency across all platforms. The ideal candidate should be organized, creative, and capable of managing multiple projects.
About BIGD
By influencing policy and practice through rigorous research and quality academic programs, BIGD aims to promote innovation in governance and development processes toward a more just and prosperous society. Partnering with academics around the world, BIGD conducts multi-methods research on governance and development issues in close collaboration with several crucial departments of the Government of Bangladesh, large non-profits such as BRAC, and international organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
Audiovisual Production
- Shooting, editing, and producing video content (interviews, Tong Alaap episodes, event coverage, etc.).
- Editing and mixing audio for videos or standalone audio content.
- Adding motion graphics, infographics, or simple animation to video projects.
- Creating a wide range of digital and multimedia content tailored for various platforms and audiences. This includes static and animated graphics for social media, email campaigns, video thumbnails, digital newsletters and flyers, promotional visuals, etc.
- Managing proper technical setup, including high-quality sound, lighting, and composition.
Photography
- Capturing relevant photos (on field or otherwise) for use in BIGD publications.
- Planning and executing on-site photography for internal and external events, including setup, execution, and post-event editing.
Campaign promotions for BIGD’s Academic Department
- Coordinating with the Academic team for both static and audiovisual content, including social media content, email campaigns, video thumbnails, digital newsletters and flyers, promotional visuals, etc.
Content Management
- Organizing and maintaining a digital asset library (photos, videos, graphics).
- Ensuring proper file naming, version control, and archiving.
- Understanding of platform-specific requirements for multimedia content (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, website, etc.).
Quality Control
- Reviewing audiovisual content for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to BIGD brand guidelines.
- Optimizing media for performance (e.g., compressing videos for web, using web-safe graphics, etc.).
- Regularly collaborating with the relevant clusters to understand their creative needs.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Film/Media Studies, or a related field.
- Hands-on expertise in videography and photography, including fieldwork outside Dhaka.
- Skilled in using tools such as DSLR/mirrorless cameras, gimbals, and portable audio equipment.
- Proficiency in video and photo editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, and CapCut is essential.
- Organizational skills to manage and archive a growing repository of multimedia and communications files.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially in coordinating with multiple departments and clusters.
- Willingness to travel both within and outside Dhaka to cover events, training programs, conferences, and meetings.
- Working knowledge of AI tools for transcription, video enhancement, or text generation is a plus.
- Experience working in the development sector is preferred.
Reporting and Base
The position will report to the Programme Coordinator, BIGD, and will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
