Project Summary

The Executive Development Centre (EDC) under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), Finance  Division, Ministry of Finance, has been established at the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Brac University to offer the Post Graduate Diploma in Knitwear Industry Management (PGD-KIM).

About BIGD

By influencing policy and practice through rigorous research and quality academic programs, BIGD aims to promote innovation in governance and development processes toward a more just and prosperous society. Partnering with academics around the world, BIGD conducts multi-methods research on governance and development issues in close collaboration with several crucial departments of the Government of Bangladesh, large non-profits such as BRAC, and international organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. BIGD oversees BRAC International’s Independent Research and Evaluation Cell (IERC), which works in ten countries
across Asia and Africa. BIGD also hosts the Country Office of the International Growth Centre (IGC), London School of Economics (LSE); and the ED of BIGD heads the IGC Country Office.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the position include:

  • Ensuring effective lab classes and the smooth management of the EDC
  • Setting up laboratory equipment and materials as per the PGD-KIM curriculum
  • Assisting instructors during practical lab sessions, demonstrating equipment usage, and providing technical
    support to students
  • Supporting equipment calibration and troubleshooting and reporting security incidents
  • Offering guidance to students and maintaining accurate laboratory records
  • Performing any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications

To qualify for the position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Diploma in IT with practical experience in IT-related job responsibilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other tools

Preferable experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the relevant job at any academic institution,
government, semi-government, or autonomous organization.
