About the Role

The Director, Academic Coordination is the senior-most leadership position of the Academic Coordination Team and a member of the Senior Management Committee (SMC).

The Director, Academic Coordination, will provide strategic leadership for BIGD’s academic programs, ensuring academic excellence, curriculum revisions, regulatory compliance, program quality, and sustainable growth. The position will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of BIGD’s Master’s programs and other academic initiatives while supervising the Academic Coordination Team. The Director may also teach courses related to his/her expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all academic programs and academic operations.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance of Master’s programs and other academic initiatives.
  • Develop and review curricula in line with Outcome-Based Education (OBE), university policies, and UGC requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with academic regulations, accreditation requirements, and institutional quality standards.
  • Guide academic innovation, pedagogy, student learning experience, and program development.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with BRAC University, UGC, faculty members, students, alumni, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead program planning, admissions support, academic calendar implementation, and academic policy development.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the Academic Coordination Team, including Senior Academic Coordinators and other academic staff.
  • Support institutional planning and contribute to organisational strategy as a member of the Senior Management Committee.
  • Represent BIGD in relevant academic, professional, and institutional forums.
  • Teach or facilitate selected postgraduate courses, where appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD in Education, Public Policy, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a relevant discipline from a recognised university. Exceptional candidates with a Master’s degree and significant academic leadership experience may also be considered.
  • At least 10–15 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, academic administration, or academic program management, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, quality assurance, academic governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and postgraduate program management.
  • Proven leadership, people management, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Employment Type

Full-time, contractual.
