On June 28, BIGD hosted an interactive discussion on the National Budget for FY 2025-2026.
Following a presentation by Dr. Towfiqul Islam Khan, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), speakers and participants engaged in a rich exchange of ideas and reflections on the national budget. Part of BIGD’s Envisioneers initiative, the session brought together senior academicians and young researchers, fostering critical, cross-generational dialogue across disciplines.
Moderated by BIGD’s Mehnaz Rabbani, reflections were provided by Dr. Kazi Iqbal, Research Director, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS); Dr. Ashikur Rahman, Principal Economist, Policy Research Institute; Ferdaus Ara Begum, Chief Executive Officer, Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD); Dr. Atonu Rabbani Professor, Department of Economics, University of Dhaka; and Dr. Md. Deen Islam, Research Director, Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID).
