“Capacity Building of Factories in Sustainability and Climate Action” is a new project on energy management from BIGD, supported by the Danish Embassy in Bangladesh. The project aims to collect data on traditional and renewable energy consumption and associated information from 500 factories within the RMG and overall textile sector of Bangladesh, and to develop a sustainable energy pathway plan for the sector. The project will be conducted in a partnership between BIGD, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at BRAC University, the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) at BRAC University, and Green Tree Building Consultants.
The event brought together key researchers, industry professionals and sector experts to highlight the need for new data on sustainability and energy consumption in the RMG sector.
