South Asia is among the world’s most climate-vulnerable regions, with more than three-quarters of households and firms expecting weather shocks in the next decade. But how are they coping, and is it enough?
On 23 November 2025, Dr Siddharth Sharma from the World Bank’s Office of the Chief Economist for South Asia joined us at BIGD to share insights from their regional report “From Risk to Resilience: Helping People and Firms Adapt in South Asia”, which examines how households and firms are adapting to climate change and what’s limiting their ability to do so. Dr Sharma’s presentation was followed by a lively Q&A, moderated by BIGD’s Research Director, Dr Munshi Sulaiman.
