CLARISSA Consortium, BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), Terre des Hommes Foundation, and Grambangla Unnayan Committee jointly organized a conference to present key results and emerging policy recommendations on Child Labour: Action-Research-Innovation in South and South-Eastern Asia (CLARISSA) on 6 March 2024 (Wednesday) at the BRAC Centre Inn Auditorium.
CLARISSA is an action-research programme on innovations to address child labour in South and Southeast Asia supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, as part of the Asia Regional Child Labour Programme. It uses action research to understand the dynamics that drive the worst forms of child labour (WFCL) and generate participatory innovations which helped address underlying dynamics and mitigate their worst effects.
As the programme came to an end in March 2024, the dissemination event was organized to present the key results and emerging policy recommendations. There were three parallel working sessions on the informal economy and child labour, adopting a child-centred approach to address child labour, and social protections, where participants were requested to share their expertise and insights to enrich the recommendations. The Honourable Chair of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr H.M Ibrahim, MP, was the Chief Guest at the closing session.
