The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) jointly organized a conference to disseminate the final findings of the Covid-19 Learning, Evidence and Research (CLEAR) project from 3-5 March 2024. CLEAR—a consortium of research organizations working in Bangladesh, funded by the UK Government’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO)—was set up with the aim of understanding the social and political impacts of the pandemic, generating policy-relevant research and evidence to support Covid-19 recovery, and increasing resilience to future shocks.
The final conference of the CLEAR project focused on the lessons that can be learned from Bangladesh’s experience of living through a polycrisis while also building a future knowledge agenda for Bangladesh that connects local concerns to global priorities and debates in development.
The three-day-long event had six thematic sessions drawing on the work of CLEAR grantees, showcasing how these connect to the global debates on increasing inequality, inclusive institutions, digital innovations, knowledge hierarchies, and partnerships.
