At the চা-চক্র session on July 15 2026, Dr. Fariha Farjana presented on “Innovation Adoption Among Smallholder Farmers in Bangladesh and Effects on Agricultural Production and Dietary Quality.” Using data from 720 farm households, her findings reveal how the adoption of agricultural innovations affects farm productivity, time use, and household dietary quality among smallholder farmers in Bangladesh. She also noted that internet access can support productivity and women’s dietary diversity. Meanwhile, land fragmentation can increase women’s farming burdens and limit their participation in more profitable non-farm work.
