The Anti-Corruption Evidence (ACE) is a research consortium, led by SOAS, University of London. ACE is working in the UK, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Tanzania with 12 partners on around 40 research projects. BIGD is a research partner of ACE in Bangladesh, conducting six research projects on anti-corruption on topics such as regulatory enforcement in garments industries and corruption in the management of water cooperatives and community-based fisheries.
RPG is a flagship program of BIGD, which aims to re-establish the relationship of trust and partnership between researchers and policymakers to build institutional capacity and produce rigorous research, consequently uplifting the quality of evidence-based decision and policy-making in Bangladesh. Currently, RPG is conducting studies on digital literacy and access to public service delivery, social accountability in social safety nets, and citizen’s experience with land services.
DIMAPPP is a government project, which aims to improve public procurement performance and enhance capacity for implementation and monitoring of public work projects. In DIMAPPP, BIGD is implementing and evaluating the impact of a sustainable, low-cost, and politically-feasible model of citizen engagement in public procurement at the local level.
Made possible by a three-year grant from the Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, the Applied Research and Implementation Initiative (DigiDev) during 2020-2023 will develop the organizational capacities of BRAC and BRAC International to integrate digital innovations into poverty programs. This will take place with support from BRAC’s Institute for Governance and Development (BIGD), BRAC International’s Independent Evaluation Research Cell (IERC), BRAC Social Innovation Lab and BRAC USA, working closely with country and program teams across the BRAC family.

High density of population, large number of migrant workers returning from COVID-19-affected countries, and the unprepared health system makes Bangladesh a high-risk country for COVID-19 outbreak. BIGD will start immediate, rapid research on four key areas to analyse the economic impact of COVID-19 in Bangladesh.
Historicizing BRAC is an ambitious project that aims to meticulously document BRAC's approach to development, growth trajectory, and critical inflection points through historical accounts of the organization's major development programs. It is an investigation and attempt to theorize BRAC’s navigation as well as sustainability within the context of changing socio-economic and political realities.
The Covid-19 Learning, Evidence and Research Program in Bangladesh (CLEAR) is an FCDO-funded program designed to support an evidence-informed Covid-19 response and recovery in Bangladesh. CLEAR is led by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in collaboration with the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD). It aims to build a consortium of research partners to deliver policy-relevant Covid-19 research and evidence for Bangladesh, support increased evidence uptake among policymakers and share lessons from the Covid-19 response to better prepare for future shocks.
