The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is an internationally recognized, 30-month certification program for procurement and supply chain professionals.

About the Program

Dedicated to promoting best practice, CIPS provides a wide range of courses which enable people working in procurement to gain globally recognised professional qualifications. The CIPS certification is well recognised and accepted by public and private sectors, and by development agencies all over the world.

Curriculum

The CIPS qualification offered at BIGD is a 180 credit program consisting of 3 levels – Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Professional Diploma level.

Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level 4) intends to increase participation within planning and forecasting for future demand, forward planning for contract development, negotiations, and contract management. This part of the program covers negotiation with suppliers, conflict resolution with the supply market and chain.

Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level 5) focuses on cost reduction and added value of purchases and supplies, improving timescales and stock control, management and innovation in the procurement and supply process, and developing legal and risk management expertise.

Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level 6) incorporates within, strategic acumen to align functional, organisational and supply chain strategies, and to devise and implement change movement. The course intends to develop skills in areas including leadership of stakeholders, the procurement function, teams and relationship management, and project and financial management.

Application Process

Applicants need to register to become a CIPS Member at the official CIPS website and pay the required student membership fee of £112.00 with an international credit card. Afterwards, they need to register at BIGD, Brac University.
