Masters in Procurement and Supply Management (MPSM)

The Masters in Procurement and Supply Chain (MPSM) at BRAC University develops highly competent procurement and supply chain management professionals of international standards to meet the demands of the 21st century.

About the Program

Procurement and supply management is a crucial function for any organization, and the demand for highly-skilled procurement and supply professionals is increasing to meet the needs of our growing economy.

The Masters in Procurement and Supply Management (MPSM) at BIGD is a 48-credit program, offered since 2012, which was specially designed to meet this need by developing qualified professionals capable of effectively managing the complex function of procurement and supply management across public and private sectors in Bangladesh and beyond.

Curriculum

The program is structured into two streams - Capstone and Thesis. The first stream consists of foundation, core and elective courses and finishes off with a capstone integrative course. The thesis stream has the same structure but finished off with a dissertation after a non-credit research methodology course.

The foundation courses are designed to build a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts of procurement and supply—planning, sourcing, negotiating, measuring performance, and managing relationships. The core courses focus on developing management and leadership skills relevant to procurement and supply such as strategic management, risk management, change management, and performance improvement. The elective courses allow students to pursue their specific interest areas. The capstone course offers an opportunity to students to apply their learning to a real-world situation.
