Admission and Fees

The application process for Master of Development Studies (MDS) and Masters in Procurement and Supply Management (MPSM) is given below –
  • Step 1: Call for Applications
    Circulars for admission to the MDS and MPSM programs will be posted in daily newspapers, BIGD website, BIGD Facebook page and in the BRAC University website.
  • Step 2: Apply online
    Applicants are to complete their online application through the BRAC University Admissions Portal.
  • Step 3: Pay the application fee
    Local Applicants are to pay a non-refundable application fee of Tk. 1500. For international applicants, the non-refundable application fee is US$ 20.Applicants can pay their application fee through –

  • Step 4: Admission Test
    Applicants are to sit for an admission test, consisting of a written exam and a viva.

  • Step 5: Enrolment
    Selected applicants are to submit the non-refundable admission fee through BRAC bank or IFIC Bank (Mohakhali branch). Upon successful payment, students are to complete their course registration or advising at the BIGD Admissions Office. Students are to then complete the payment of their tuition fees based on the number of credits they have registered for, after which they can start classes.The tuition fee breakdown for Master of Development Studies (MDS) and Masters in Procurement and Supply Management (MPSM) is given below –

The application process for Master of Arts in Governance and Development (MAGD) is given below –
  • Step 1: Call for Applications

Call for applications to the MAGD program are sent directly to Government Ministry offices in Bangladesh and South Asian countries.

  • Step 2: Apply online
    Applicants are to complete their online application through the BRAC University Applications Portal.
  • Step 3: Admission Test
    Applicants are to sit for an admission test, consisting of a written exam and a viva. The written test is designed primarily to test the applicant’s analytical abilities, logical expression and English language proficiency.
  • Step 4: Selection and Enrolment
    Selected applicants will need to apply for a government order to be granted paid leave for one year, subject to which they can enrol into the program.

Please note that the Master of Arts in Governance and Development (MAGD) is a fully funded, residential program for both local and international students, which takes place at the BRAC University Savar Campus. Food and lodging will be covered by the program; additionally each student will receive BDT 6,000 per month as pocket money, and
BDT 10,000 as thesis grant.

The application process for the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification is given below –
  • Step 1: Become a CIPS Member
    Applicants are to register to become a CIPS Member at the official CIPS website.
  • Step 2: Pay the membership fee
    Applicants are to pay the CIPS student membership fee of £112.00 with an international credit card.
  • Step 3: Register at BIGD, BRAC University
    Applicants are to fill up the CIPS registration form at BIGD, BRAC University and pay the module tuition fee.

The application process for Post Graduate Diploma in Knitwear Industry Management (PGD-KIM) program is given below –
  • Step 1: Call for Application

Notice for fresh intakes will be available in daily newspaper, and will be announced in the BIGD website, BRAC University website, SEIP website and BIGD Facebook Page. Additionally, circulars for applications are sent to Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA).

  • Step 2: Apply Online

Applicants are to complete their online application through the BRAC University Applications Portal.

  • Step 3: Admission Test

Applicants are to sit for an admission test, consisting of a written exam and a viva. The written test will focus on the candidate’s writing aptitude, while the viva will assess the candidate’s interest in pursuing this program.

  • Step 4: Selection & Enrolment

Selected candidates will need to acquire a no-objection certificate (NOC) from their employers, and will submit their past academic records and certificates.

The PGD-KIM is a fully funded, non-residential program. However, participants are required to maintain 80% attendance throughout the program, which is why they are provided allowances for transport and refreshments. Each participant will get a daily transport allowance of BDT 400 during Term 1 and Term 2. During the three-month internship, each of the fresh graduates and working participants will be given BDT 10,000 monthly. Apart from transport and internship allowances, an additional BDT 100 for
weekdays and BDT 300 for weekends will be given to each student as refreshment and lunch allowance respectively.

The application process for Academy of Work (AoW) is given below –
  • Step 1: Call for Applications

Admission circulars for the AoW program will be sent to labour associations and will be available on the BIGD website. The circular will contain the application form.

  • Step 2: Submission of Applications

Interested candidates are to fill up the application form, scan and email to application@academyofworkbd.org. Applications are accepted in both English and Bengali. Additionally, candidates are to submit (preferably in a single PDF file) their CV (maximum 2 pages), motivation letter (maximum 1 page) and official recommendation letter from their trade union. Alternatively, candidates may submit the documents personally at the FES Bangladesh Office.

  • Step 3: Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be called in for an interview with representatives from FES, BIGD and BILS where their calibre, motivation and intent for pursuing the AoW program will be assessed.

  • Step 4: Selection & Enrolment

Selected candidates will be notified for enrolment.

 

The AoW is a fully funded, residential program.
