BIGD provides technical assistance to different public, private and donor agencies. It has provided technical assistances to the government of Bangladesh in formulating a strategy on how to involve citizens in public procurement under Public Procurement Reform Project (PPRP) II of Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU), IME Division, Ministry of Planning. As part of this initiative, the institute has also facilitated the activities of Public Private Stake-holders Committee (PPSC) and published quarterly newsletters titled Public Procurement Watch.
BIGD has also been implementing Local Governance Programme Sharique-III, a SDC funded consortium project. The consortium is comprised of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation (HSI) and BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) of BRAC University. It has also recently undertaken some other initiatives, for instance, DFID funded Transforming Leadership and WB funded Community of Practice on Performance Management.
Earlier, formerly IGS had provided technical assistance to carry out The Bangladesh Compliance Analysis by GoB in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for UNCAC, formulating NIS and CPTU, IMED, Ministry of Planning.
