Sahida Islam Khondaker
Sahida Joined BIGD as Research Associate in November 2014. Before that she worked with Pathways of Women’s Empowerment at former BDI as a Research Associate. She is experienced in preparing and maintaining the budget, handling administrative tasks and maintaining liaison with related organisations. She is also experienced in organising national and international seminars and conferences.
Prior to join BIGD she worked as a Researcher for 'Protection of Jamdani as a Geographical Indication in Bangladesh' with Dr. Iftekhar Iqbal, Associate professor, Department of History, Dhaka University under supervision of Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD). She also worked as Project leader and facilitator for Digital Story Workshop with The International HIV/AIDS Alliance. Sahida worked with Musawah Global Life Stories Project: Bangladesh as Researcher. Musawah is a well-known feminist research network which works on Muslim women’s rights. She also worked at Center for Policy Dialogue as an Intern.
Sahida has done her Master Degree in Women’s Studies from University of Dhaka and Bachelor in Sociology from National University. She attended a week long training programme organised by DAWN for the young feminist of the global south at Miriam College, Manila, Philippines in April 2009.
