Sufia Khatun joined BIGD in April 2014 as a Research Assistant under the project ‘Impact Evaluation of the DFID Programme to accelerate Improve Nutrition for the Extreme poor in Bangladesh-2nd Phase.’ She is currently involved with the project ‘CGST/ Choice, constrain and gender dynamics of labour market in Bangladesh’’. Her responsibilities include conducting in depth interview, case study, life history, focus group discussion, economic opportunity mapping for qualitative data collection, data transcription and assist in report writing.
Before joining BIGD she worked as Research Assistant (Qualitative) in various Health Projects under Research and Evaluation Division of Brac. She also worked in Kangaroo Mother Care project at ICDDR,B, MAMA project at DNet and in Plan Bangladesh on various projects on gender, education and health as qualitative research assistant.
She completed MSS and BSS (Hons) in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University. She was trained in data analysing software like SPSS and STATA. Her research interest areas include gender issues, health issues and sustainable development.
