Sanjida Parvin joined BIGD as a Research Assistant in June 2014 in the CGST project ‘Choice, constrain and gender dynamics of labour market in Bangladesh’. Under the project she is responsible for conducting In depth interview, Case Study, Life history, Focus Group Discussion, Key Informant Interview, Economic opportunity mapping for qualitative data collection, transcribe data and assisting in report writing.
Before joining at BIGD, from September 2012 to May 2014, she worked as a Project Officer (Research) at Naripokkho under its projects on ‘Women’s Health and Rights Advocacy Partnership’ (WHRAP) and ‘Rana Plaza Collapse – Post Disaster Vulnerability Assessment & Safety Net Programme’. She has also worked as a Research Assistant at The Nielsen Company Bangladesh. LTD, for its projects ‘End line survey on evaluation of garments worker under HIV/AIDS and LSE programme’ (November 2011 to January 2012) and ‘Risk and Vulnerabilities of the Migrant and Trafficked Women Living in Jessore: A Qualitative Study’ (June 2012 to August 2012).
She received training on Knowledge Management, Gender Responsive Planning and Budgeting, Right to Information and Governance, Animator Training Programme, Participatory Action Research (PAR) or Gonogobeshona in Bangla, Peace and Security Studies.
Sanjida obtained her MSS and BSS (Hons) in Sociology from University of Dhaka. Her research interest areas include gender, health, the labour market, urbanisation and development, migration and sustainable development.
