Master of Development Studies (MDS) programme
Fall-2017

The Master of Development Studies (MDS) programme is designed to provide an in-depth, inter-disciplinary understanding of development concepts and issues. The programme is designed for both - freshers aspiring to pursue a career in the development sector, and existing development professionals hoping to enhance their skills to enable them to perform in a more effective and productive manner.


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

For admission into the MDS programme, a candidate must meet the following requirements:

1. The candidate must have at least a Bachelor (Honours) or a Master degree and at least a second division or CGPA 2.5 in any discipline from a recognised public or private university.

2. The candidate must qualify in an admission test consisting of a written test and an interview.

Note: Candidates with third division or CGPA of 2.00 at any level of education are not eligible to apply.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

Ø  Applicants can only apply online for admission. Application Link:admissions.bracu.ac.bd 

Ø  Applicants have to pay the non-refundable admission test fee Tk. 1500.

Ø  Only after the payment, the application may be submitted.

Ø  After receiving a conformation email from BRAC University, Candidates should log on to their account for collect of the Admit Card.


DOCUMENTS TO BE CARRIED TO THE EXAM HALL:

Ø  Bring the printed Admit Card, a ballpoint pen and a normal calculator to the exam hall. No mobile phone will be allowed into the examination hall.


DOCUMENTS TO BE CARRIED DURING THE VIVA-VOCE:

Ø  The candidate needs to bring Admit Card, original copies of his/her academic certificates and grade sheets during the viva-voce.


DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR FINAL ADMISSION:

a) Academic certificates (original and 2 photocopies)

b) Mark/grade sheets (original and 2 photocopies)

c) Admit card (BRACU)

d) 02 copies of recent passport size photographs.

e) A copy of National ID card.

INSTRUCTION FOR WRITTEN TEST:

Ø  Admission test will be a mix of MCQ and written element.

Ø  Final selection of all candidates will be made on the basis of merit with their combined marks in the written admission test for 100 marks and interview /viva-voce for 20 marks.

Ø  The framework syllabus for written admission test is as follows:

ü  Mathematics related questions                                               : 20 marks (MCQ)

ü  General Knowledge relatedquestions                                     : 10 marks (MCQ)

ü  English Language & Communication related questions    : 30 marks (MCQ)

ü  Analytical Writing                                                                      : 40 marks (Written)
