BIGD, BRAC University has partnered with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) - a UK based international organisation, serving the procurement and supply profession to deliver the CIPS qualifications programmes at Level 4 (Diploma in Procurement and supply), Level 5 (Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply) and Level- 6 (Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply) in Bangladesh. BIGD became the key partner in delivery of CIPS component under Public Procurement Reform Project-II of the Ministry of Planning of Bangladesh Government in 2010. BIGD is the first registered study and exam centre for CIPS qualification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management in Bangladesh since 2010.

What is CIPS Qualification?

CIPS Qualification is an internationally reputed professional degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management. CIPS certificate is well recognised and accepted by public and private sector and development agencies all over the world. It is a need based professional degree. The whole courses are designed to build capacity among supply chain professional with required skills, knowledge and attitude to render the best performance in the competitive global market. As a result, demand for CIPS qualification increase everyday.

Objectives

Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level 4) intends to increase participation within planning and forecasting for future demand, forward planning for contract development, negotiations, and contract management. This part of the programme covers negotiation with suppliers, conflict resolution with the supply market and chain.

Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level 5) focuses on cost reduction and added value of purchases and supplies, improving timescales and stock control, management and innovation in the procurement and supply process, and developing legal and risk management expertise.

Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply (Level 6) incorporates within, strategic acumen to align functional, organisational and supply chain strategies, and to devise and implement change movement. The course intends to develop skills in areas including leadership of stakeholders, the procurement function, teams and relationship management, and project and financial management.

Faculty and Trainers

Courses are mostly delivered by MCIPS qualified faculty of Bangladesh and CIPS, UK. Recognised and trained CIPS UK National Procurement Trainers of Bangladesh Govt. and guest lecturers from different public and private universities also deliver lectures.  Certain supply chain experts and consultants from reputed organisations also share practical experience with participants.
