MAGD-6 Current Students


BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) of BRAC University run an MA in Governance and Development (MAGD) which is exclusively for Public Sector Official. Currently 6th Batch MAGD is going on with 23 students, among those 20 are from Bangladesh Civil Servant and 03 are from Myanmar Civil Servant. This is first time BIGD, BRAC University recruited foreign students for MAGD.  The programme aims at equipping government officials with knowledge and skills to deal with the complex issues of governance and development in the twenty-first century. 

This MA program is fully residential and it has been designed to enhance knowledge and skills of individual to enable them to enlarge their intellectual capabilities; to create environment and become better equipped to confront the complexities of governance in a globalised world. The one year residential programme is divided into three semesters. The full programme is given 36 credits along with 9 credits on thesis. This progarmme will also be given an avenue to see foreign countries civil servants like South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and China and so on.  For this MA programme the expected participants is not more than 25. After the first three batches of MAGD, BRAC is continuing funding for MAGD.
